• Map Links / General Links

  • University of Texas Map Collection : The most extensive online map collection in the United States.  Has any any map of any independent state in the world.  Also has maps of current events.

  • Pictures of Places : Has assorted pictures (landscapes, cityscapes, etc.) from all around the world.

  • Census Boundary Files : Census produced GIS data that you can view in ArcExplorer (the software I provided in our first class meeting).  When downloading these files, you will want to work with Shapefiles (.shp).  

  • Space Imaging : Interesting satellite images from around the world

  • United State Census : Demographic information from the United States.  Many of the metric should be familiar.  Is able to give statistics down to the county level.

  • International Database :  Database displaying social indicators (population pyramids, birth rates, death rates, etc.) for almost every country in the entire world.  May be very useful for your report
